We recognise that making space for the arts to exist is the key to their growth. Trac Cymru strives to create opportunities to learn, explore and develop our Welsh culture and traditions from both inside and outside of mainstream education. From hosting residential courses to delivering workshops, our work aims to widen the accessibility, support, practice, development and celebration of Welsh traditional arts for all. 

Many of our community-driven projects often use Welsh folk music, dance and song as mediums to explore themes of everyday life, such as identity and language. We work on a local and national level to bring people together and engage with our traditional arts, often in collaboration with fellow organisations and partners, showing us the significance and relevance of our cultural heritage today.

Trac Cymru also works directly with emerging and professional artists, focusing on their wants and needs to create opportunities that best support their development and careers both at home and internationally. From training and mentoring programmes to showcases and conferences, we work alongside industry experts, specialists and creative freelancers to support our thriving folk scene in Wales at a professional level.

In everything we do, we want to raise awareness for traditional arts. We make spaces for them to be heard, like the Welsh Folk Awards or Tŷ Gwerin at the National Eisteddfod, and take them to new audiences across the globe. As a guest on a panel or a hand in a research project, we also explore ways we can make change - for the future for our arts, the music industry and the planet.
